More then any other footwear powerhouse, Karhu has sunk their fashion teeth into the Moominworld like no one else. For their second release of 2022, Karhu teams with Moomin for a custom two-piece sneaker pack release.
Context for you, created by author and illustrator Tove Jansson in 1945, the Moomins are a family of carefree, adventurous trolls from the eponymous Finnish storybook series. Similar to previous releases, this cult-classic has teamed with Karhu on their Fusion 2.0 and Aria 95 silhouettes for this duo-pack.
For these two releases we capture Moomintroll gracing the upper of each sneaker, which takes direct influence from the story of Moominpappa at sea. The Fusion 2.0 arrives in color-waves of “India Ink/Chambray Blue” to mimic the Moomins’ journey at sea, while the Aria 95 is drenched in “Dawn Blue/Sleet” and utilizes a sturdy mesh and a reflective M-logo paying homage to the rocky island lighthouse where the family eventually lands. Both silhouettes adorn splashes of red which are inspired by Moomintroll’s scarf, while vibrant geometric patterns highlight the colors of Moominvalley.

Manchester-based fashion-house Oi Polloi is unveiling the release of a five-piece quilted capsule alongside countryside designs-men Lavenham.
Inspired from his early years growing up in Manchester , Oi Polloi co-founder Steve Sanderson (who reminisces over late night parties, Italian lux sportswear, DIY aesthetics and outdoor pursuits) thoughtfully designed a five-piece capsule of quilted brilliance as they teamed up with the British label.
Doused in a color palette inspired by the OG Range Rover Mark 1 — “Tuscan Blue”, “Lincoln Green” and “Sahara Dust” — a trio of bomber jackets which come equipped with ribbed collar and cuffs, slash pockets and a drop hem, are accompanied by a duo of gilets, which arrive crafted with equal precision. Branding is kept subtle with a small tab at the hem and traditional markings on the inside of the collar, while dual-zip fastening completes the perfect transitional garment.
The short series by Oi Polloi x Lavenham is set to release on February 1 via Oi Polloi’s webstore, with the jackets retailing at £275 (approximately $370 USD) and the gilets £195 ($260 USD).

NIGOrecently made his debut for KENZO with the French luxury powerhouse’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection. Holding the honor as the first Japanese designer to front the house since its originator Kenzo Takada, NIGO delivered a “real-to-wear” expression that blends KENZO’s heritage with modern muses.
This debut was hosted at the Galerie Vivienne in Paris, the location of Kenzo Takada’s first show (“Jungle Jap”) back in 1970. NIGO ushered in a new era for the label with this series. Cued to NIGO’s upcoming album, I Know NIGO, which features A$AP Rocky, Kid Cudi, Pharrell Williams, Pusha T, Teriyaki Boyz, Tyler, the Creator and Lil Uzi Vert, the FW22 continues Kenzo Takada’s blending of Japanese and wardrobe norms with NIGO’s unique streetwear legend lens. The newly appointed Artistic Director reimagined KENZO’s archive to unite and transcend both culture and conventional dress codes.
This Japanese-Western theme for outerwear offers pieces like the souvenir bomber jackets with a wool side sharing an embroidered map of France and silk side embellished with a map of Japan. Tapping into military influence continues with the shearling-lined nylon aviation jackets, varsity and “Ivy”-inspired graduation jackets adorned with Kenzo Takada’s original sketches. A soft collection of Harris Tweed coats, checked biker jackets, coverall jackets and other workwear, cement the influence that Takada provided to the fashion industry.
Adding another layer of personal touch, NIGO, currently learning the art of Aka-e pottery from the master potter Fujimura Shuji, showcased his new skillset with decorative adornments hand-painted by his teacher. NIGO refuses to leave out his love for animal graphics as they are viewed on many pieces in this series. The designer revived the feline stuffed-animal scarves of Kenzo Takada, along with oversized coquette’s, field caps, reversible souvenir jacket pouch bags and other carrying options emblazoned with the archive Pop Bouquet flower print and the Tamari Monogram, a new geo- pattern.

Taiwan-based fashion designer brand GOOPiMADE offers their global fanbase a mesh of style with functionality with their latest collection of activewear. In their first launch of 2022, GOOPiMADE presents a limited collection dubbed DT01-SOFTBOX, which a sub-series of the “Experimental Project.” series.
In their latest lookbook, GOOPi features Taiwanese singer Queen Wei and hairstylist Jimmy sporting relaxed-fit clothing in aesthetics hinting at Japanese anime. Subtle features adorn each article such as a new black label detailing, symbolic of the unorthodox designs and upgraded fabrics in the SOFTBOX line. The highlighted pieces include the D-9S “Divisor” Functional Pocket Shirt and the P-3S “Hyperbola” Utility Track Pants in the new “Loch Ness” blue colorway. Our favorite Finnish footwear label Karhu, debut their official first release of 2022. Thoughtfully, the design powerhouse decided to start the year off with a journey of relaxation and mindfulness for their first capsule release dubbed “Shinrin Yoku“
Known as forest bathing, Shinrin Yoku is the Japanese practice of spending time in nature for the purpose of meditation or healing. Centering around the need to separate from the chaotic world and meld closer to one’s self, Karhu presents a collection inspired by the environment while catering to our five senses.
Karhu sticks true to this theme by introducing two new colorways of its epochal Fusion 2.0 silhouette. “Asparagus/Celadon Green” and “Dark Olive/Cress Green” iterations resemble trees, leaves, resin, roots, bark, flowers, berries, and herbs, and each sneaker also houses a midsole partially constructed of cork, which can be harvested without cutting down trees.
Unveiling their upcoming collection for Summer/Spring ’22, Amsterdam-based Patta offers a release that is inspired by the companies Team. The Patta team, reflect on ideas drawn from team members’ personal experiences, environments and culture.
The inspiration can be seen throughout the collection including in reworked camouflage prints, an all-over jewelry-inspired pattern and varsity jackets covered with Patta iconography. Other stand-outs include paisley printed items, “Lobi Libi” printed jerseys and pieces sporting the “Team Patta” dedication.
