• Milan Design Week is underway & to celebrate a few pieces were offered up by Nike. The first display is the innovative Kobe 9 Elite. Nike introduces a low version of the model created by Nike CEO Mark Parker, fragment design Founder Hiroshi Fujiwara and Nike Innovation Leader Tinker Hatfield. In four distinct colorways, the sneaker combines Nike’s Lunarlon, Flywire and Flyknit technologies into one silhouette. Details take the form of reflective flecked laces, anodized HTM aglets, embossed snake scales and reflective Swoosh trademarks. Translucent windows in the outsole feature the remains of the Flyknit construction process, a reference to Flyknit technology’s sustainable properties, while the signature HTM logo finishes off the design. Look for the Kobe 9 Elite Low HTM collection to release exclusively at Nike Stadium Milano and Excelsior in Milan starting April 8.

• Nike in collaboration with Arthur Huang, the Taiwanese founder of Miniwiz, the brand developed the Aero-Static Dome in Milan. At the base of the sculpture nine glass boxes each hold the new Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low HTM sneaker, with the knitted upper developing into the anchor of a massive overheard metallic inflated form. The structure perfectly communicates the strengths of Nike’s Flyknit technology, which include light weight, form-fitting, optimal performance and enhanced sustainability. Situated at the Palazzo Clerici in Milan, the structure was inspired by the aerodynamics of Leonardo Da Vinci’s triangular parachute and Alexander Graham bell’s tetrahedral kite.
