•Considerably the most important art events of the year, the second edition of Art Basel in Hong Kong has showcased 245 of the world’s leading galleries from May 15 to May 18, with more than 2,000 artists involved. The event was broken up into six sectors: Galleries, Insights, Discoveries, Encounters, Magazines and Film, displaying a variety of art practices including painting, sculpture, drawing, installation, photograph, video, as well as ‘edition’ works from the 20th and 21st century. With Film was newest sector of Art Basel Hong Kong, which was presented at the Hong Kong Arts Centre by agnès b., featuring a selected list of films from 30 galleries. A great addition for the film buffs out here in Hong Kong.
“Nowhere else on Earth will you find such a rich mix of high-quality work from the leading galleries and artists from both East and West” Told by the Art Basel Director Marc Spiegler. In any case, the Art Basel still is a motivation to the local art market, worthy to receive respect from the artists and virtuosos.
