To being their celebration for 35 years of amazing footwear design and contributions, ASICS is unveiling their first release of the GEL-LYTE III’s. The celebration project featuring the ASICS GEL-LYTE 3 OG, enlists creative director Hideyuki Kunii to help usher in the bold new colorway.
Dubbed “TRICO 2024”, the ASICS is adorned in a tri-color theme focused around white, red and blue. The majority of the upper design is draped in the flush crisp white as the toebox furnished in suede, is brilliantly dipped in a sky blue which provides a strong color contrast. The red coloring is presented on the discreet pull-tab at the back of the shoe. The tri-color mission is fullfilled but not limited to these locations as the cross fabrication and mesh areas provide color sightings that only further the design and details.
As for the unique fabric choices on the GEL-LYTE III’s, are the mixing of suede with a collection of mesh additions such as the side panel and along the back portion of the sneaker. Additional contrast is noticed on the tongue as the white laces attempt to hide the black zipper. The most prominent detail is the graphic design at located at the very bottom of the shoes, displaying the phrase “Far East” highlighting the collaborative support from brands mita sneakers and Herringbone Footwear.
Starting July 27, the ASICS GEL-LYTE 3 OG “TRICO 2024” will be available through mita sneakers and directly managed ASICS stores in Japan. From July 29 onwards, the sneaker will also be stocked across both brand’s online stores.
