Coming this July to the renowned Torikaze Hong Kong is the return of the infamous Japanese yakitori master and and Torishiki ICHIMON group founder, Yoshiteru Ikegawa. For a special three night guest chef extravaganza, the highly anticipated event will be hosted by the restaurant’s premium venue dubbed Forty-Five, Landmark.
For only three nights, a select group of guests will get a chance to enjoy a specialized yakitori omakase menu crafted by Chef Ikegawa who teams up with Hong Kong Head Chef Ryo Matsui. The Michelin star chef known for his Tokyo establishment Torishiki, rarely showcases his skills on many international stages and kitchens but he is making an exception for the popular venue. Placing his special menu at the lavish venue comes with a price tag of $1,480 HKD (plus 10% per guest). The menu is worthy as it consists of a progression of seasonal flavors that begin with appetizers such as silky liver mousse, chilled corn soup and ginger‑shiso chicken roll, joined by stuffed chicken wings filled with Yunnan mushrooms. Next, guests will enjoy a curated selection of signature yakitori cuts grilled over premium Kishu binchotan charcoal, including thigh, shoulder, gizzard, heart, fillet, tsukune meatball, chicken oyster and wing, alongside vegetables like Manganji peppers, okra and sweet potato. Additional highlights include cold tomato with water beans, a comforting claypot rice with sweet corn, and a tropical finale of coconut and mango ice cream.
Reservations can be made via Torikaze Hong Kong.
