Art| Takashi Murakami at Gagosian Gallery New York

• “In the Land of the Dead, Stepping on the Tail of a Rainbow,” is a major exhibition of new paintings and sculptures by Tokyo-based artist Takashi Murakami. This colorful and abstract collection of art is currently held at Gagosian New York. Murakami combines classical techniques with the latest technologies, and continues to explore an ever-expanding field of aesthetic issues and cultural inspirations. In totemic sculptures representing demons, religious sites and self-portraits; and paintings that combine classical Japanese techniques with Abstract Expressionist tropes, science fiction, manga, and Buddhist and Shinto imagery, Murakami investigates the role of faith amid the inexorable transience and trauma of existence. “In the Land of the Dead, Stepping on the Tail of a Rainbow” will be open through January 17, 2015.

Art & Event|”To Die For” Naturel Art Exhibit at Poppington (RECAP)

poppington

• Last Night was a great night for art, music and brews at New York based art gallery Poppington, owned by mogul Dame Dash. An artist we have been following for some time now reigning from the US capital Washiongton DC, Naturel hosted an art exhibition titled “To Die For“. This capsule showcased a lsit of already famous art works and was accompanied by a few new additions. The wood floored, high ceiling venue was filled with great spirits and much art appreciation. Names from all over the country came to the Big Apple to take a gander at the latest works by Naturel. Stars of all sorts made time on their schedules to stop by like Spike Lee and many more. Of course Dame Dash had to be present for it was his venue. Below is the recap video by KNEWLIFEMEDIA and features music by @JoeCarterMusiq titled “Road Signs”… ENJOY!
