Lifestyle|Watch How a $15,000 USD Golden Skateboard Is Made

• A father-son team, made up of  New York City-based artist Matt Willet who came up with the idea of the golden skateboard and enlisted the help of his dad, who works at Epner Technologies in Brooklyn making gold-plated components for NASA. Featured on the latest episode of Network A’s Dose, host Tim Brodhagen visited the duo to see firsthand how they make 99.99% pure electro-plated skateboards. Watch as Willet and his dad completely transform all the parts of a Shut skateboard complete, progressing through copper plating, nickel plating and finally finished with gold. The board is then polished to a mirror finish. The final product is an amazing gold board that weighs nine pounds and works completely.
