• In the last few years, the mesh between fashion and food has marked a change in markets as well as the obvious affect social media can play. More and more we have bared witness to many high fashion retailers utilizing the food industry in their flagship locations. Food has become a vital marketing tool in the fashion and lifestyle world due to the heightened interest the masses have taken in self-awareness and health. One brand who has a fore-sight for prosperous ventures is Italian luxury brand Prada, whom in 2014 became a majority shareholder of historic pastry venue and retailer Pasticceria Marchesi. This week the first Pasticceria Marchesi flagship is opening its doors under Prada’s reign, on the luxury street Via Montenapoleone in the heart of Milan.
To maintain the traditional style, feel and taste, Prada is working with the founding family to ensure that the concept is rolled out as close to the original as possible. Prada worked with its go-to architect Roberto Baciocchi to create a slightly more modern identity for the shop front, which features custom-made fine china by Rosenthal and silver cutlery, resulting in a very luxurious experience. Open every day of the week including Sunday, the new Pasticceria Marchesi flagship serves everything form breakfast and lunch to apéritifs, from 7.30 A.M. to 9 P.M. This makes the list of definite stop whenever in Milan.
