LEGO has been insistent on joining the art world with their latest series of LEGO collections and the momentum has only picked up. The newest addition to the catalog is in partnership with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, as they collaborate to present “Claude Monet – Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies” (31220).
This massive project that consists of 3,179-piece is a tribute to the French Impressionist. The re-imagined 1899 masterpiece is a three-dimensional project that is measured at 20 inches high and 16 inches wide, meant to be previewed from two perspectives: from afar and close up both offering their own unique viewing of the project. The LEGO design team took details into deep consideration as several Monet signatures appear such as the brushwork that is displayed by layering tiles and plates. Notable are the foliage and water textures that are crafted utilizing unique pieces including swords, bananas, butterfly wings, and cherries.
Adding to the appeal of the art-based project is that this set is more than just a display but serves as an interactive art history lesson. Added to the sets booklet is the designers QR code providing access to an exclusive podcast featuring a curator from The Met, providing context on Monet’s life, his garden, and the inspiration behind the painting.
The LEGO Art “Claude Monet – Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies” will be available to LEGO Insiders for early access starting March 1, 2026, with a general release on March 4, 2026. The set will be sold via LEGO and stores globally.
