This weekend, rising alt-pop singer-songwriter Ally Evenson drops the official music video for “Crash My Car For You,” an emotionally poignant track from her sophomore album, Speed Kills. The new album officially dropped everywhere on February 20 and is a brilliant 14-track that showcases Ally’s process with the aftershocks of a breakup: the ensuing anxiety, profound sadness, newfound confidence, and ultimately, self-actualization.
Celebrating the release of Ally’s album, the indie talent presents a cinematic visual for one of the leading singles from the project. Ally shared “This song is about a real-life crush I had/have on someone. It hurts to have a crush sometimes. It makes you want to crash your car and put cigarettes out on your arm so you feel something other than The Yearning.” The music video is an additional celebration component as the artists celebrated the release of Speed Kills with a sold-out premiere of the album’s complete visual counterpart at Brain Dead Studios in Los Angeles.
All of these songs are about me and my life. You’re getting who I am on Speed Kills. This is a study of myself.
Ally sums it up best
Ally is expected to start a US-based tour early May that will start off at the Quartyard in San Diego.
