Renowned designer Ant Kai has yet again made a masterclass out of meaningful collaborations as he has teamed up with ASICS for a custom makeover of the popular Kayano 14 silhouette. Dubbed the “Moss” edition, the footwear designer delivers a botanical touch to the very functional and futuristic shoe design.
The Ant Kai custom ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 “Moss” re-imagines the runner aesthetic with a nature-based finish fueled by moss-covered rocks that deliver a floral touch to a technical construction. The sneaker starts off with a gray mesh base that is adorned with a burlap-styled fabric which plays as a base for the hand-stitched Moss embroidery. The moss aesthetic is ultra highlighted as a forest grassy-green overlay embodies the classic ASICS’ iconic Tiger Stripes creating an eye-grasping touch to the sneaker. The bespoke sneaker is completed with heavy-duty rope laces and painted, mismatched heel panels that thoughtfully complement the overall color palette.
