Furthering their dress‑watch collection is horologist brand Daniel Roth, who recently unveiled the Extra Plat Rose Gold Gilt.
The independent watchmaking brand has returned to one of their more elegant and well-received renditions, as Daniel Roth revives the Extra Plat Rose Gold Gilt. This reinterpretation from the rare 1940s dial-making technique, this iteration highlights the purity of time display. Adorned in the brand’s signature 5N rose gold double-ellipse case, the watch measures at 38.6mm by 35.5mm and just 7.7mm thick. The overall appeal is derived from the precious metal architecture matched with a deep black dial and a black calfskin leather strap.
Handcrafted details boosted by the watch include the guilloché pinstripes, developed by a traditional rose engine. Daniel Roth produces a true Gilt process fueled by dimensionality and reflective richness that produces a layered effect with gold accents just under the surface. Paired with a black calfskin strap, the composition balances warmth, depth, and understated elegance. The case back is yet another signature featured as it displays the in-house Calibre DR002, a manual-winding movement that was crafted by watchmakers Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini. Measuring 3.1mm thick and comprising 143 components across 21 jewels, the movement operates at 28,800 vph and delivers a 65-hour power reserve.
The Daniel Roth Extra Plat Rose Gold Gilt has a price tag of 55,500 CHF (approx. $68,641 USD), and is made available by visiting Daniel Roth retailers and official website.
