Art|View The @Aiww “Laundromat” Project Located In New York on Refugee Crisis

• In his attempts to educate and inform others of the continuing Refugee Crisis, artist Ai Wiewei presents his latest installment dubbed “Laundromat” based in New York City. Held at the Deitch Projects in New York, the Chinese artist – whom was once a refugee himself- filled the exhibition space with garments, shoes and personal effects that he acquired from refugee camps that housed Syrian immigrants at the town of Idomeni near the border of Greece.

Displayed at the exhibition are articles that Ai was able to retrieve from trucks that were taking the wet and soiled clothing to a landfill, which in turn had AI clean, wash, dry and iron or this project. Which is how the installment received the name Laundromat. Utilizing the floor space, Ai plastered 2,000 text and image snippets from the media reports on the crisis while the walls are lined with photos documenting Ai’s time in Idomeni. The “Laundromat” installation which is on display till December 23 joins Ai Weiwei’s previous projects in Florence, Prague, Berlin, and Vienna that deal with the current refugee crisis.

Fashion| MUSCHI x DJINNS “Scars & Stripes” Capsule Collection

In true MUSCHI style, the pun-filled lookbook keeps things lighthearted, while the video below thugs things out by several degrees. The adidas Skateboarding flick, filmed and edited by Torsten Frank, captures what it is and takes to not just be a skateboarder but earn the rights to shred the streets of Berlin. Adidas Skateboarding delivers an amazing  glimpse at the German International Team flip, kick and pushing thru astonishing destinations of Berlin. Adidas Skateboarding takes us on a journey through rural German architecture found throughout the city, as well as a look into some epic banks, gaps and an occasional loading dock.

Adidas Skateboarding features its entire German International team, including Tjark Thielker, Phil Anderson, Valeri Rosomako, Kai Hillebrand, Patrick Zentgraf, Markus Blessing, Sandro Trovato, Michi von Fintel and Lem Villemin. Each portray a unique style and ambition that drive these skaters to make the essentially impossible, possible in some sharp, tight locations. adidas Skateboarding coalesced with Juice Design, a San Francisco based advertising and design boutique,  to produce this exquisite depiction of the team skating the streets in Berlin, not to mention epic choice in tunes, courtesy of Main Fear of Love and Raithe Laurence.
