TRIWA‘s #ThrowBackThursday is probably twice as significant then your favorite influencer, as the renown watch brand is revisiting their past efforts to help make the world a safer place. Last year, the Swedish time-piece designer designed a capsule collection of watches from melted down illegal firearms from the gang and crime infested areas of El Salvador. This resulted in roughly 5,000 guns being taken off the street and over $70,000 in support funds that went to local anti-violence programs.
The goal this year for TRIWA is to remove more guns and raise more money and awareness to this life-saving act. Partnering with Humanium Metal, TRIWA is gearing up their second release of these gun-melted watches. The series consist of the Hu39 Chrono Slate, Hu39 Chrono Classic, Hu39 Swiss Slate, Hu39 Swiss Classic, Hu39 Automatic Slate, Hu39 Classic, and the Hu34 Classic. All designs are detailed on the TRIWA kickstarter page.
Similar to most of what TRIWA offers, these watches are stylish and contemporary matching the modern closet and outfits of today. The most notable feature is the great feeling you earn from knowing that 15% of the proceeds goes back to El Salvador to benefit the communities struggling from gun violence.
TRIWA maintains an affordable series of watches starting at $179 and goes up to $525 ad you can help their initiative and support by heading over to their kickstarter page.
