One of R&B’s greatest sensations in the last decade easily is Bryson Tiller who notably became a musical fixture and an anticipated talent during the renowned Soundcloud era. Since the early 2010’s, Bryson has become a globally recognized R&B talent with a detailed hip-hop/rap influence. With all the success from Bryson’s previously charting albums, Tiller doesn’t abandon his routes of cooking up independently built hits and letting his fan base have them free of charge.
Returning to his Soundcloud page, Bryson has begun the 2024 year off by giving back to his listeners with a self-proclaimed release series dubbed “Tiller Tuesdays“. The idea is in the name, Bryson plans on releasing unreleased singles every Tuesday until …. well until he doesn’t, or we get a major supported project.
Kicking this series off, Tiller recruits one of SoundCloud’s most recognized producers (Who if you are a true SoundCloud head, you would remember seeing him and his AGO team on the cover when Soundcloud started) by the name SANGO. Bryson and Sango team up to start this series off with the perfect introduction record titled “Lost Intro“. Reverting to his early start, this sample heavy production by Sango turns Tiller into the old Tiller, who is part rapper and part crooner. Bryson takes no time for the production to build but delivers bars immediately. What is a brief Minute and 30 seconds, Bryson leaves nothing to the imagination on topics and timing as he flaunts his forever flow while speaking on some heavy-hearted discussion points. Tiller even takes his last bar to shoutout the genius producer himself, Sango.
Now we segue way into the follow up single which released this week is the more R&B meets Soca vibe single called ‘Sex You Up‘. Featuring Nigerian singer Patoranking, this enticing single is more what listeners are expecting from Bryson who plays with Caribbean-vibes in previous works. ‘Sex You Up’ is a dancehall dream record that appeases musical senses with the hypnotic sample and outstanding Charlie Heat production. Patoranking comes in with a refreshing tone that gives that authentic afro-caribbean energy.
