“The day that we wrote this song,” Williams says, “one of my amazing co-writers had just gotten a puppy and was talking about the fact that he was so cute that he almost wanted to squish him! We started playing with the double entendre of the saying ‘love you to death,’ which you can especially hear in the chorus! The lyrics combined with the bossa nova influence created such a light-hearted, yet meaningful little song. This was such a fun song to write, and it’s such a fun song to sing! I think it might just be the perfect way of saying ‘I love you’ to your Valentine this year!”
