Music| J.Cole Gives Fans Another BTS Experience w/ “Might Delete Later, Vol. 2”

Dreamville, USA’s President and leading act, J.Cole has returned with the Volume 2 of his short series dubbed “Might Delete Later“. Filmed in a vintage Smack DVD type aesthetic, J.Cole provides a custom POV experience that highlights the tour he just finished, new shoes he’s preparing to release and many unique behind-the-scenes moments.

In this anticipated vlog-series, J.Cole showcases his illustrious collection of industry friends such as Drake, Central Cee, Sexyy Red, Benny The Butcher and Lil Yachty, to name a few. Viewers indulge in the making of Cole’s upcoming album as he showcases beats he’s working on, lyrics he’s laid and reactions from fellow Dreamville members and teammates. We watch small talks with Lil Yatchy leaked the potential of more music from the crafty duo as well as artists appreciation being shared amongst Cole and female hip-hop artist Sexyy Red.

Being the innovator and pioneer that J.Cole has become renowned for, we even get a glimpse at one of Cole’s latest projects, dubbed the “Indie5000”. The potential sports sneaker release by Cole and an unmentioned manufacturer is hinted at in a playfully commercial which is debuted by Cole who is in the gym raining shots. With his past collaboration with Puma has come to an end, it’s safe to assume that the rapper and businessman has found new sources to release sneakers to his fans. As the first product shot in the short series, we will make sure to keep a look out for the potential release.

Gearing back to the music, throughout the eleven minute short, Cole offers voiceovers or simply just ‘fly on the wall’ talks about his chase in music and the experiences that shaped his work ethic and ambitions. Cole relives moments such as the creation of his first project and the idea verse reality experience he encountered when speaking with Roc-Nation CEO, Jay-z.

“When I first signed to JAY, all I wanted to do was drop a classic. That sht could’ve sold 3,000. I’m like, ‘Man, your first album’s supposed to be slept on,’ but it’s gotta be an Illmatic. Once I signed to JAY and this n*gga was like, ‘Nah, you not putting the album out until you got some f*cking hits.’”

“I’m like, ‘Oh, sh*t.’ I had to trial-and-error for a year and a half, two years. ‘Workout’ was like — I squeezed that sh*t out last-minute. But that was an unnatural space for me. Even if you listen to it, I can’t even hear that sh*t back because I’m trying,” Cole continued. “But through all my trying, over the years, that sh*t turned into like, I grew superpowers.”
