Fashion| Tommy Hilfiger Resurfaces Their Renowned “International Games” Collection

Tommy Hilfiger led an iconic fashionable takeover in 1996, with their eminent “International Games” capsule collection dedicated to the ’96 Olympics that took place in Atlanta, Georgia. After almost 30 years later, Tommy Hilfiger re-surfaces this timeless series with 41 re-imagined pieces comprised of menswear, womenswear and gender inclusive track suits.

For the capsule collections lookbook, Tommy recruits new members to the “Team Tommy” campaign such as NFL-wide receiver Stefon Diggs, prominent college basketball guard Deja Kelly, all-Japan skateboarding association star Aori Nishimura and Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team driver Mick Schumacher. Team Tommy flaunts pieces from the designers capsule in a collegiate themed photo series. In the lookbook, we get introduced to modern pieces while exploring the heritage and history of Hilfiger’s color palettes and fabric preservation. Color history that Tommy is known for encompassing colors of classic red, white and blue tones and includes yellow, green and black hues, all depicted the collaborative nature that the Olympics stands for. Primary pieces in this capsule series include color-blocked warm-up jackets and singlets, as well as striped rugby shirts, sailing windbreakers, basketball-inspired “TOMMY 85” mesh tops and signature varsity jackets.

“The sporting calendar sets the cultural pulse for the year – and 2024’s shaping up to be amazing, … We’re building on our legacy of working with pioneers in sport and reimagining timeless American icons through an archival lens.”
