A tandem with a lavish history in the horologist world is that of TAG Heuer and Porsche and the relationship only continues. Both brands are motorsports enthusiast and have collaborated on several projects dedicated to cars and watches to match. Their common beliefs in functionality and detail, are met again in their most recent collaboration of a popular timepiece.
The watch dubbed the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche 963 is a limited edition series that pays homage of their joint history but also highlights the Porsche 963. The limited silhouette borrows cues from automotive engineering that boosts the rugged sport design and appeal. The exterior is offered in a 44mm finely brushed steel case, the fitted tachymeter bezel adorned by the blackened and carbon build. Additional odes to the Porsche 963 is the LED lighting that is displayed with Super-LumiNova blocks for low-light readability.
The caseback of the Carrera Chronograph offers a sneak peek to the mechanics of the watch that is supported by the TH20-00 movement that’s geared with chronograph, date, hour, minutes and seconds indications. The detailed finishes include the rubber strap, low-drag air inlets and specially engraved with “963” on its central link.
The series is limited to 963 examples, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche 963 time-teller has a price point of $9,200 USD and is currently available to purchase through TAG Heuer.
