Cars| @BringATrailer Showcases The Nissan Skyline C10 Fully Refurbished

Hailing as one of the most impressive automobiles made, the Nissan Skyline C10 is a revered rendition of the skyline by all autophiles who have seen this iteration as a coveted edition. The now auctioned muscle made car is highlighted by  Bring a Trailer has a clean and tastefully modified example of a 1971 Nissan Skyline GTX KGC10 up for sale. Many argue that this is not the official  2000GT Hakosuka, which is renowned and also has a price tag of around $200,000. This much more affordable silhouette via Bring a Trailer, is still in classic form and very much a high ticketed item for any Skyline lover.

This particular example features plenty of modifications, ranging from an L28 inline-six engine that’s fitted with a Kameari Engine Works 3.0-liter stroker kit and triple Mikuni carburetors that is good for producing 186 HP and 200 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels. While these may not be the Skyline figures we’re used to, these numbers should be good for getting the car going considering the C10’s dinky size and low weight, all while delivering plenty of noise from the stainless steel exhaust system.

Additionally, this release includes 15” Watanabe-style wheels, MK63 front brake calipers, air conditioning, power windows, a Panasonic Electronic Toll Collection system, a Kenwood head unit, and Pioneer speakers, as well as Skyline, GT Kai, and GTR badging. Elsewhere, fender-mounted black mirrors, front and rear spoilers, and black-finished wheel arch flares contrast the classic silver paint job.

As of writing, this C10 has a bid of $80,000 USD with five days left. We expect the car to fetch over $100,000 USD at this rate. Visit bidding on BaT for more details.

Vehicles| @MercedesBenz G 63 Gets A Facelift By @BRABUSgermany & foastla.de

Germany based design brand fostla.de has become renowned for their collaborations and design takeovers and they have strike again. The Brabus 800 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S four-door, the design studio fostla.de is back with yet another G-Class, this time around taking on the Brabus 800 iteration.

The G 63 has been given the full Brabus 800 conversion, meaning it features a far wider body kit than standard that’s dominated with carbon fiber trims, hitting up areas such as the front skirts, radiator grille, the hood extension, and the roof extension above the windshield that now includes LED auxiliary lights. Additionally, mirror caps and fender flares have been added, while the signature rear wheel cover is now offered up in carbon fiber alongside a new rear wing with Brabus branding gracing its tips.

24” Monoblock Z “Platinum Edition” forged wheels look even beefier thanks to the lowering coilovers supplied by Brabus which sets the car’s center of gravity lower for better handling, and as for power, the bi-turbo V8 engine now produces an apt 800 HP and 1,000 Nm of torque, with sound coming out of a tuned set of flap-equipped side-exit exhausts.

As for where fostla.de comes in, it is able to apply its premium touches to the car all around. So, badging appears on the grille, but its first-class foiling — otherwise known as wrapping — has also been fitted to the G 63. However, the announcement comes after Brabus has granted fostla.de the ability to offer its customers official Brabus conversions and realize them at its own headquarters, making conversions more widely available to those with a G-Class.

The original 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R owned by Ken Miles (the race car driver) is making it’s way to Mecum‘s 33rd Original Spring Classic auction in Indianapolis.

Ken Miles’ success with the GT350R was recently depicted in the film Ford v. Ferrari, which ultimately saw Miles take the classic American muscle car to victory, claiming first place with Shelby‘s first-ever competitive motorsports entry. This particular model is memorable for its airborne photo-finish, but also because the code 5R002 Mustang served as Shelby American’s factory engineering mule — in turn helping the manufacturer develop 34 customer R-spec models.

It was raced by Miles at the Green Valley Raceway in 1965, equipped with a 289-cubic-inch V8 making 306 BHP and 329 lb-ft of torque back in its heyday. Mecum Auctions expects this super-rare collectible to potentially fetch a lot of money, following the recent records of a 1967 Shelby Super Snake that sold for $2.2m USD and the Bullitt Mustang that sold for $3.74m USD.

Find out more about the model as well as how to bid for it on Mecum Auction’s website.

Automotive| A Closer Look at @AimeLeonDore x @Porsche Collaborative 911 “ALD 964”

Recently, we showcased the first campaign video of an amazing collaboration between fashion label Aime Leon Dore and luxury car brand Porsche. For a full look into their collaboration, the duo unveiled a closer look at the 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 964. An in-depth look into the details of the design and styling of the updated silhouette.

After months of research and preparation, the “ALD 964” incorporates fabric and patterning referencing ALD’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection, while maintaining Porsche’s elegance and timelessness. Many custom accents are featured on the car such as a Schott leather trunk, custom-made “ALD 694” grill badge, rear ducktail spoiler and Pegasus graphic detail above the front wheel. A few words from the strategic press release with a statement from  ALD’s founder Teddy Santis “many of the values that connect Porsche and Aimé — simplicity, ambition, tradition, and beauty.

Porsche’s Chief Marketing Officer Dr. Kjell Gruner states “Teddy Santis is as much a Porsche fan as we are, and we are happy to see his inspiration and creativity meeting the 911 theme,” and continued with “His interpretation is visually stunning and also shows unique features for a 964 — it is a true one-of-a-kind.”.

Automotive| @AimeLeonDore Teams With @Porsche On 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 911

Above is the official teaser for the united efforts from New York based fashion brand, Aime Leon Dore and our favorite luxury car curator Porsche. This partnership showcases the creative skill-set of these two powerhouses and the design aesthetic that they share when curating a style and look.

ALD (Aime Leon Dore) took drastic research steps to participate in the automotive design world by taking several trips to Porsche Museum and 911 assembly line in Stuttgart, Germany. From this extensive training and growth of knowledge resulted in a fully functional recreation of a Porsche classic. Attention to details plays out well as  completely reupholstering the interior using Schott sunflower leather and Loro Piana houndstooth — inspired by ALD’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection. Cup 2 wheels nod to 1990s-era Porsches, while a Pegasus graphic detail above the front wheel pays homage to the marque’s racing heritage. The most notable addition to the ALD 911 is the custom-made badge, proudly stating “ALD 964” on the rear grille.

ALD founder Teddy Santis said in a press release:

Porsche has been woven into the DNA of Aimé Leon Dore since the brand’s conception. For me, the Porsche 911 is perhaps the single most iconic automobile of all time, a car whose design synthesizes many of the values that connect Porsche and Aimé — simplicity, ambition, tradition, and beauty.

Also stated in its press release, “Rich top-grain leather wraps the dashboard, steering wheel, and door panels, while the reverse suede side of the leather covers the headliner and sunroof.”
