Popular horologists tandem Zenith & Felipe Pantone come together yet again for their third collaborated timepiece which is special edition Defy Skyline Tourbillon.
Maintaining their rainbow-themed aesthetic, the co-creation highlights signature features from booth brands for instance Pantone’s signature kinetic art style that suffuses the dial with a unique effect to interplay with light, color and geometric patterns. Creating difference from previous renditions, the DEFY Skyline Tourbillon host a iridescent finish that is applied to the indices, hands, tourbillon bridges, as well as the dial plate. Added depth takes form in the sapphire dial disk which packs a vignette effect that darkens towards the outer edges. More visible appeal is applied with the detailed micro-engraved concentric circles that permeate the face of the watch delivering a mesmerizing touch.
The mechanics of the DEFY Skyline Tourbillon is encompassed with the El Primero 3630 high-frequency automatic manufacture movement with a power reserve of 60 hours and incorporates the artist’s chromatic signature touch even on the movement, in the form of a star-shaped oscillating weight with a rainbow PVD finish. Crafted in a 41mm octagonal stainless-steel case, the DEFY Skyline Tourbillon Felipe Pantone provides a highly geometric and angular silhouette frame.
“I’m excited to unveil my latest collaboration with Zenith, our most exceptional watch to date. It’s a masterpiece of high horology, combining simplicity and sophistication. This complex yet minimalist timepiece features stunning details, including the tiny gradient indexes and hands, the mirror ‘Planned Iridescence’ dial and a truly unique bolt shaped tourbillon.
