Cars| Hyundai Unveils Hydrogen-Powered INITIUM SUV Concept

In efforts to continue to pursue electric vehicle support, Hyundai unveils their latest hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) concept dubbed the INITIUM.

Latin for “beginning”, INITIUM is a new staple project that showcases Hyundai’s innovative style in design and a step closer to electric vehicle support initiatives. With this release Hyundai introduces the new “Art of Steel” design language which Hyundai Global Design Head, SangYup Lee, describes the design as “a form of art” that pushes steel formability to its limits. Signature design notes for the INITIUM include the bold lighting and 21-inch wheels.

On a more technical note, the INITIUM is geared for a driving range exceeding 400 miles. The newly designed enhanced motor is also developed to produce an output of up to 150 kW all surging from the hydrogen fuel tanks designed for optimal range and performance.

To date, Hyundai has yet to supply a set release date, but you can expect to see the all-new electric INITIUM in 2025.
