Today, indie-rock singer songwriter Briston Maroney releases his latest single, “Better Than You.” A bounding tune about menace and ambition and self-judgement that spreads like a virus, the song, co-written with Dan Nigro (Caroline Polachek, Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell, Lorde) is the final release ahead of the release of his guitar-heavy, explosive and engrossing new album.
This new single, which premiered on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music Radio 1 show, is an infectious new track that lends some room for what to expected from the upcoming album dubbed ‘JIMMY’ which is set to release Friday, May 2nd. Prior to this release, Briston unveiled a series of singles from the album including “Real Good Swimmer,” a masterful and magnetic rock song over which Maroney presents a snapshot of the people who he grew up knowing. He followed the track with a double release of “Tomatoes” and “Bullshit,” two songs depicting two worlds at work.
While we prepare for the album by Briston Maroney, he is also gearing up for his Spring Tour with Peach Pit.
