Cars| A Rare Porsche 911 GT2 R Emerges At Upcoming Auction

Renowned auction powerhouse RM Sotheby’s open up the offering for a very rare 1 of 10 Porsche 911 GT2 R that was built in 1997. Draped in a Glacier White paint, this 993-generation design of the GT2 R was owned by GT champion and Frikadelli Racing founder Klaus Abbelen.

This GT2 R is available in unfinished condition and without a chassis number or matching engine. This blank canvas is meant for a true enthusiast who could rebuild this to period-correct spec and made eligible for events like Masters Endurance Legends and Peter Auto’s Endurance Racing Legends. The car comes with a Wagenpass, inspection by Andy Prill, spare BBS wheels and numerous components.

This rare GT2 R is set to be auctioned off on May 22 as part of RM Sotheby’s upcoming Milan Sale.
