J.Cole holds one of the most anticipated projects in the last decade, and his most recent release date announcement has sent the internet into a hope-filled rant about what is Cole’s final rap contribution. With an official release date of February 6th, Cole’s last studio album dubbed “The Fall Off” is expected to drop and Cole made this announcement through the release of his new single “Disc 2 Track 2“.
Celebrating the final project, J.Cole teamed with director Ryan Doubiago for a nostalgic and retrospective visual for the new single ‘Disc 2 Track 2’ which provides deep introspective bars fueled by the rapper journeying his career in reverse. Jermaine brilliantly details his rap journey from the end to the beginning walking viewers and listeners through it all. The music video plays on the somber end of Cole while revitalizing his story back to his humble beginnings. Scenes like moving from a hearse and a church service back to his days as a rising star are great examples of Cole’s amazing ability to story-tell.
The single, produced by DZL and Maneesh, gives insight on what we can expect from the upcoming LP. The single title itself implies that this project just might be a double-feature project and the lyrical showcasing just confirms that we are in for one of the best lyrical displays we have had from J.Cole yet. The highly anticipated project is now experiencing a timeline takeover and is expected to be all the talk come February 6th.
