• The latest line of apparel from Swiss menswear brand Strellson is divided into two collections – the premium (R)EVOLUTION, made up of business casual pieces, and the TWILIGHT Sportswear collection. Both offer up elegant variants on time-proven classics, with deep blue and indigo respectively playing a fundamental role in the collection’s aesthetic.

(R)EVOLUTION hits the mark with a restrained approach to the blazer, pants, and coat combination, while the selection of a few key jackets, including a bordeaux quilted vest, twist the knife. In keeping with a seemingly universal predilection for subdued colors, Strellson aims to make no sacrifices, regarding form or function. The choice of materials, along with carefully placed asymmetries, create volume and dynamism for a category of clothing that can often seem static. Each piece could make or break a man’s look.

Meanwhile, TWILIGHT takes off where the work week ends. This collection is all about the ’80s and ’90s, with punk rock and grunge an obvious influence. Here the rougher edges of those genres have been filed down for a look that promises a more studied appreciation for the extremes. Graphical tees are a must in any case: one that is handled with care. The prints are more conceptual, referencing perhaps the eerily blurred mysticism that eventually subsumes each generation’s popular culture.
