Fresh from their most recent collaboration with FILA, is the growing fashion and footwear label Lucid FC making a subtle transition from sneakers to a range of luxury styles in seasonal collections. Presenting their A/W capsule is the twin duo Betts and Chetts, who for this series designed a collection that pivots a time in history that designed the way the world sees design. Drawing inspiration from he 1900’s (originating) and 1970’s (post) Futurism era, more specifically Stanley Kurbic’s visually altering masterpiece, “A Clockwork Orange” , an original novel from, Anthony Burgess.
Snatching aesthetic from the visual, Lucid FC utilizes Kubrick’s ultraviolent take on society’s counterfeit assembly nods to the present, and future. Sticking to the brands classic, minimalistic style, the latest collection features an almost completely brimming authentic dip dyed vibrant hue across a variety of doeskin wool, RAF P-Cloth, and heavyweight rare streetwear staples. From knitted leg warmers, to utility gillets, to heavy cotton kits, this collections features a variety of classic fall/winter’s most prized design and warmth.
The twins (Betts & Chets) described their design process ‘Our new collection features a slim selection of never-before-seen futurist silhouettes accompanied by traditional workwear patterns. Orange and blue are this collections standout tones. Our signature Workwear Trousers receive a Doeskin makeover with our signature dyed navy & orange hues. Doeskin is preferred by the world’s leading designers due to its soft handle and lustrous drape. The drape works exquisitely to complement the contours of the body and the cut of each garment. Our striking colour palette ensures that our Doeskin really stands out from the crowd. Beautifully simplistic, yet stylish and elegant, this fabric is brought to life in production. This fine worsted cloth is made to exacting standards, has been upheld through generations, while retaining a thoroughly luxurious modern feel.’
“There are nemours stills from our editorial, shot by Dannah, that may come down to the viewer how they interpret; likewise A Clockwork Orange. These stills will make you feel intrigue and excited or uncomfortable, awkward.” – Lucid Twins
Many of the pieces selected are the brands own interpretation of what is seen through in eye of Italian Futurism creations in forms of cinema, sound, art, literature and more, from the 1909 Italian design movement that revolutionized the way we live everyday. The garments are pretty on par with the theme, but with a more minimalistic, lucid spin. The collection is available today via Lucid FC webstore.
