Fashion| Movado & Kenny Scharf’s Offer a New Artistic Collaborative Collection

Renowned luxury timepiece designer Movado has developed an artistic series of pieces with the helpful artful eye of American artist Kenny Scharf. Fueled by custom watches and a small series of accessories, this collection is a brilliant showcasing of whimsical designs and colorways.

Native to Los Angeles, Kenny Scharf’s colorful palette and appreciation for abstract illustration are displayed throughout every watch, bracelet and necklace that adorn this amazing capsule collection. Kenny also added “I use the past, the present and the combination thereof including time, no time, every time and chaos, equaling infinite creative possibilities.” This too is very evident in the playful direction that Movado allowed some of their most traditional pieces to be a part of. Movado’s signature Bold TR90 model, as well as necklaces and bracelets, are seen in an animated light like never before all while maintaining the legacy-brand’s details and design notes.

This eye-grasping series consist of six variations of Movado’s Bold TR90 model, making up the entire watch segment in this series. Each timepiece is an ode to one of Scharf’s signature artworks: the Kosilingo, Micro Stellar Viera Panasonic Sparkle Rainbow and Blobzmos. The galaxy inspired prints furnishing these wristwatches play as paint meeting a canvas, which is uniquely selected in color and illustration selection. A Movado designer described the process as “We chose the TR90 model due to the use of the TR90 material itself. The TR90 gives us the ability to make the case any color we want, and felt that utilizing the bright, vibrant color found in his artwork was the best way to capture the spirit of his art within the product.” Additional to the artwork, each watch comes equipped with a stainless steel 42mm case ring and White Swiss Super LumiNova accents.

Adding to the series are the soft collection of vibrant jewelry. Necklaces and bracelets are featured in this kaleidoscope collection such as the Mixed Material Charm necklace, which is graced with a crystal pave link that reflect the cosmic landscape of Scharf’s 2021 painting, Blobzmos (© KENNY SCHARF. A few customized Bike Chain bracelets are attached to the series featuring some of Scharf’s eccentric characters alongside Movado’s signature dot motif for a playful touch.
