Our beloved GRAMMY- Award winning artist, actor and multifaceted entertainer, Will Smith, finally releases his first full-length album in 20 years, dubbed Based on a True Story. This 14-track album fueled by story-telling from the Phiily legend also comes with a superstar line-up of features and collaborators including DJ Jazzy Jeff, Teyana Taylor, & Jac Ross. Throughout the project, Will allows himself to be seen in a new light with lyrical transparency and witty wordplay.
Previously released singles First Love, Beautiful Scars, TANTRUM, Work of Art, and You Can Make It, are all included but there are several new gems within the project that make this a masterful release. Standout records that caught our attention from the album includes songs like “You Can Make It” featuring Sunday Service & Fridayy, which showcases the renowned positive message that Will has been come synonymous with.
To coincide with the album release, Will Smith also announced his first ever headlining tour the Based on a True Story Summer Tour, visiting major cities throughout Morocco, Europe and the UK. Smith’s headlining shows kickoff on July 13th in Hamburg, Germany and he is set to perform at multiple international festivals including Mawazine in Morocco, POSITIV Festival in France, Dreambeach in Spain & BIG ART Festival in Italy. Adding to the momentum, earlier this week Will returned to his native Philly where the street outside his former high school Overbrook was renamed Will Smith Way.
