With 100 years of history in crafting some of the best in detailed designs in fashion, Loro Piana celebrates their long-term reign of offering top-quality craftsmanship. For the first time ever, the luxury fashion powerhouse debuts a retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Art Pudong (MAP) in Shanghai titled “If You Know, You Know: Loro Piana’s Quest for Excellence.”
This exhibit is meant to be a meaningful, memorable, and emotional connection between the Maison and the visitor that evolves in a constant dialogue between yesterday and today, between the rigorous pursuit of the highest quality countered by the impalpable softness of the fabrics. This immersive experience was curated by Judith Clark, who envisioned a brilliant display to showcase the long-standing legacy as a luxury house. The exhibit shines light the brand’s generational relationship with China’s goat herders, who have supplied cashmere for the house since the 1960s, which makes the selection of location that much more important.
Taking over the MAP’s state-of-the-art gallery by utilizing 15-rooms filled with Piana’s heirloom fabrics, archival documents, 33 custom silhouettes, and various artworks. This multi-sensory experience brings participants through a tactile, olfactory, and visual interaction.
“If You Know, You Know: Loro Piana’s Quest for Excellence” is on display at the Museum of Art Pudong in Shanghai now through May 5. Visitors can purchase advanced tickets from the museum’s website and via WeChat.
