Music| Cartier KB Has Finally Delivered His Anticipated “Lil EP”

Michigan’s-own Cartier KB has been buzzing on many platforms over the last year for his amazingly witty wordplay and playful aesthetic. The riddle-style rapper means business as he has unveiled his highly anticipated project dubbed “Lil EP“.

Maintaining his playful ways, KB titled his latest project “Lil EP” as a playful gesture for a common mis-utilization of “Lil” when people are doing ground-breaking things. It’s safe to say, Cartier KB is the definition of ground-breaking for the mid-west music scene as he takes a popularized Detroit flow and makes it his own as his cadence and wordplay is unmatched.

‘Lil EP’ is a certified EP with just 8-tracks and 15 minutes of catchy records that are ideal for setting on repeat as you will have a great time catching KB’s metaphors and playful punchlines. The entire project is the voice of KB but has one feature from vocalist Huntchino on a very catchy track dubbed “Motion”. This being the slowest tempo record and R&B influenced, the remainder of the tracks are in classic KB style. Heavy samples, with breakout production and that growing infectious off-beat drum patterns.

Top listens based on our bias would include tracks like “Donation“, “Surf” and “Rubik’s Cube” are some of the best choices to understand the Cartier KB sound. KB has delivered hits similar in the past such as “DIP” and “Believer” which has had social and internet support. With the recent release of the ‘Lil EP’, Cartier KB is preparing a series of shows across the Mid-west, so stay tuned.
