Grammy Award-winning producer, entrepreneur, and art collector Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean partners with contemporary home furnishings brand CB2. The tandem introduces Casa Dean, an expansive collection of furniture, lighting, decorative objects, and artwork.
The collection is inspired by the intersection of family, music, contemporary art, and sophisticated living. Developed in collaboration with designer Evan Jerry of Studio ANANSI, the collection features more than 100 pieces. This series introduces a carefully curated assortment of sculptural seating, textured upholstery, distinctive tables, contemporary lighting, and decorative accessories. However, Casa Dean represents something more personal than a conventional celebrity furniture collaboration. Its visual identity embraces rich earth tones, architectural silhouettes, luxurious materials, and unexpected details. This connects contemporary furniture design with the emotional significance of home. Casa Dean marks an intriguing new chapter for an artist whose creative influence has already extended far beyond the recording studio.
This relationship between sculptural architecture and everyday comfort became an important reference for Casa Dean. The collection incorporates substantial forms and distinctive silhouettes, but its materials and proportions are intended to remain inviting. Curved sofas, plush upholstery, and richly textured surfaces introduce softness into designs that might otherwise feel overly formal. Perhaps the most personal object within the collection is the Lam-Louie DJ Console. At first glance, the piece appears to be a sophisticated contemporary storage cabinet, combining richly figured burl wood. However, its significance extends well beyond its appearance. The design is inspired by a piece of furniture Dean remembers from his childhood: a cabinet that housed records and a concealed turntable. An important part of Casa Dean’s development was Dean’s collaboration with designer Evan Jerry. Jerry’s involvement helped translate the project’s conceptual ambitions into a cohesive assortment of functional furniture and decorative objects.
The Casa Dean collection is available now via CB2.
