Revisiting a retro colorway for a classic silhouette is renowned footwear design brand ASICS, with their ASICS Gel-NYC editions in a “Dolphin Grey/Fjord Grey“. The subtle colorway offers a muted yet sophisticated aesthetic to one of the more multi-environmental shoes.
The Gel-NYC takes nods from older generations, as the upper refers to the early 2000’s Gel-NIMBUS 3 while offering design elements from the Gel-MC PLUS V. The collaboration of these previous design choices provides that needed nostalgic touch while fusing performance and comfort into a design that utilizes contrasting materials like suede and mesh. Rounding off the pair is the fusing of retro aesthetic with modern technology. It utilizes the sole of the GEL-CUMULUS® 16 shoe, which is composed of a combination of lightweight foams and GEL® technology inserts strategically placed in both the rearfoot and forefoot.
