Today’s sound in music has truly shifted from the traditional mainstream palate to a indie-discovery sound that has been pioneered by Soundcloud and sites similar. Emerging from this era are collectives that have paved the musical way for the many talents that flood the internet today. One of our favorite to mention is the Michigan based label AGO Music, which was one of the original groups hoisted to the top of the Soundcloud music scene very early on. The collective consist of Waldo, Sango, Joose The Conqueror, The SEVENth, Savon, Amos Rose & Mozaic which makes for a series of poetic rhymes, engrossing bars and outstanding production.
Making a clear example of how well this collective meshes is Waldo’s latest album release Grove that was fully produced by AGO’s Sango and Savon. The entire collective participated by offering up lyrics or featured production for the 10-track project. The anticipated project gained much attention and continues to flourish as Waldo has recently unveiled a new music visual for his single “God Nem”.
‘God Nem‘, one of Waldo’s favorite records from Grove, is a pure representation of the collective’s Grand Rapids, Michigan roots and a testament to the growth of Mid-west music scene. The JSGAL-directed visual captures both Sango & Waldo cruising in a plush Ford Truck and cameos of the mid-western terrain that these two grew up around. The grasping component in his video is literally the music. Sango’s insidious production and Waldo’s avaricious verses are the pinnacle of this performance beside the high fashion and well-done dreads of Waldo. Seriously though, the tandem gives a brief cinematic showcasing of the AGO sound and style as one of the leading collectives of the last decade’s indie music scene.
AGO Music is currently fully supporting the cult-crazed ‘Quiet Storm’ Tour headlined by Sango & Savon. The tour soon concludes in Phoenix which will feature Waldo who will be performing ‘God Nem’ and so much more. Still need tickets? Just Click Here or click below!
